7:00 to 10:00 Yachty Gras Parade on Clear Creek
"The Parade is Starting, The Parade is Starting," called out Renne', "We gotta Go Now ... The Parade is Starting."
"It's Ten Minutes before 7:00... " observed Mr Time. " They are Jumping the Gun."
"We gotta go, We gotta go... We gotta go, now!" she replied and added for good measure, "The Parade is Starting, The Parade is Starting,"
"OK Renne', " replied Jon. "We will go... We will go.. We will go!"
When people get excited they often repeat things over and Over.
"Shouldn't we be first in line?" asked Renne'.
Mr Time replied. "It's Better to be later in the parade; Judges are strict on the first Boats . Then as they see several lesser boats go by, they soften up. When we arrive they will be very impressed. We will do fine in the middle of the pack with three ugly boats ahead of us."
Jon started the Engine and Kicked on the Portable Generator to Light up the Boat Decorations. There was much scurrying about as we disconnected shore power and cast off lines. Jon at the Helm backed us into the Fairway and out to the Portofino Main channel. Then forward we charged into the oncoming stream of Boats.
" Look, I can steer without Hands"

There was a mad scramble for Beads, They were still in bags and some of the loot caught at Mardigras the previous week was tangled.
Fortunately the parade was moving at only 0.3 Kts. It took us ten minutes to get past the Screaming Crowd at Portofino. Jon was super causious and would not move in close enough for us to throw beads. We spent our time untangling beads for the Big Throw at Kemah Boardwalk. .

"
Beads Beads Beads" they Shouted
We exhausted our ready supply of beads on the first pass and turned around to make our journey back up the Creek. We Danced and Threw Virtual Beads at the Judges who were Stationed at Outriggers... Real bead throwing was not allowed. Then Someone said "I have a whole bunch more Beads".
"Lets make another pass at the Boardwalk", Mr Time suggested, "We can't take all those beads Home with us."
The Judges were Impressed... at the Awards ceremony Jon and Renne' took the Firstplace in Non Sponsored Sailboats.
At least one other TMCA captained boats was in the parade: Ron Eddleman, Cruise Captain on S/V Stellar of Course,
News from Ron and any others will be added at request.
