It turned out to be a Two Boat Cruise Rowdy and Remedy, three if you count Twinkle.

Introducing Rowdy on her maiden Solo Cruise.

Jerry and Nel Giallanza recently purchased Rowdy, a 28' Albin Flush Deck Cruiser. Get used to seeing her stern because she can go faster than the Sailboats in the fleet. Here she is leading the way to MidBay Marsh..

The trip out took us through a Sailboat race.. the winds were only about 14 Knots SE . The fleet was Having a Ball.

We anchored Off the North end of the Marsh... It provided some shelter from the Wave action caused by 20 Knot SE winds.

We went ashore on Twinkle the Herndon's recently  acquired 10' AB RIB Dinghy.

After landing we pulled the Dinghy up the Shell beach about One boat length.

The first Ship wake after we landed pushed the boat up the Beach another Half Boat length and East about two Boat lengths.

Our first Find was a Disabled Gull struggling along the seashore.  He had caught a 4" fishing Lure with twin three pronged Hooks, one hook in his Shoulder and the second in his beak. He could not fly or eat. He was in very weakened condition.  Jerry was able to catch and Hold him and Ed was able to remove the Hooks. He later walked away and rested..

HiEd,

Thanks for the note and pictures. Try
Thayer's Gull for comparison. It has been seen in the GALVESTON area the past few weeks.

I Like the sail that you took, and it is good to locate your blog. We are
here in Phoenix with family , but will be on the road on Thursday heading ack. I'll check in from time to time.

The explorers go ashore looking for Birds and signs of Marsh development. In the distance Jerry and Marion,

Closer up Nell is focused on the Marsh view.

We all got wet launching Twinkle for the trip back to Remedy...

Aboard we had Chili Cheese HotDogs with Chopped Onions, Cole Slaw, and Fritos, all Washed down with Miller Lite on Ice.

Rowdy took advantage of her 250 HP engines and took off for Port. She made it in an Hour before us.

The Fuel Line on Remedy got clogged with something while we were in the Crear Creek Channel.

The Engine stopped.

Marion sailed the Boat and I managed the Sail on the 20 Knot SE wind.

Ever since hitting the Old Kemah Drawbridge when it Closed on me as I lost power back in 1984, I have made it a practice to have at least one sail up until I am safely in Clear lake.

This time we carried the Sail all the way. Marion brought Remedy up to the slip under sail alone.

It was an Adventurous and Memorable Cruise.
